For our Royal Air Force flying suits we have measured each suit and listed them in sizes that match the wearer. So, if you intend to wear a T-Shirt or light jumper under your flying suit, the garment should fit the chest size shown.
We state the heights in centimetres as that is a world standard, whereas in the UK we use inches for chest sizes still.
Here's a quick conversion chart for heights.
|Centimetres||Feet and Inches - approximately||Stature|
|160 cm||5' 3"||Short|
|170 cm||5' 7"||Short +|
|180 cm||5' 10"||Regular height|
|185 cm||6' 1"||Regular height +|
|190 cm||6' 3"||Tall|
|195 cm||6' 5"||Extra Tall|
NATO specification flying suit from the RAF. Makes a great general purpose overall. Please select the sizing guide to find a suit that fits your measurements.
Please note - SLIM FIT : Royal Air Force pilots usually have a physique similar to that shown in the photographs. The flying suits are therefore narrow at the waist.
If you know what Royal Air Force flying suit size you require, please add that to the checkout Notes. We do not refer to them in our descriptions, because the suit may have been laundered or adapted and so the original label may be incorrect, faded or missing.
