Why is our system different?Because military garment sizing and labelling varies wildly from country to country, we have gone back to basics and after measuring each garment, we provide the chest size and height of a person that the garment will be suitable for. So, simply measure yourself and look for that size in the options available in any of our products. |

Genuine British army greatcoat as worn by the Guards Brigade battalions, such as the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards and the Scots/Irish/Welsh Guards. This greatcoat has a large collar that can be turned up to protect the neck and face from bad weather, and the sleeves can be rolled down to protect the hands. They are beautifully tailored in grey 100% wool.
Features:
Important Note: Buttons may need to be hand sewn onto the coats, so please allow up to a 48 hour delay before despatch.
The codes we use i.e. (38/110) refer to the coat's measured arm pit to arm pit in inches, doubled and then we take 4 inches off to match chest sizes.
For example, 19" is measured across the garment laid flat, this is doubled, to give 38" and then we take off 4", so the coat would accommodate a 34" inch chest. This allows for any shirts and jumpers being worn as well.
The 110 refers to the drop (in cm) from the collar seam to the hem and so how far down from your neck the hem will be can be estimated. (The reason for mixed dimensions is that we in the UK have retained inches as our chest size preferences, despite decimalisation in the 1970s. Heights are more generic and so we bow to the continental method with this).
These guards greatcoats offer fantastic value for money, being genuine army surplus they are better quality and a fraction of the price of equivalent high street branded coats! If you have any questions about this item, please email sales@fu-kit.com for expert friendly advice.
