Austrian Army Mountain Boots - breathable membrane lined
These Austrian army mountain boots are genuine issue and some of the Best Combat Footwear Money can buy. Manufactured by Meindl for the Austrian military, a pair of these boots would cost more than £200 new. They are in Grade 1 condition with signs of wear and good tread depth.
The boots are made from top quality leather and have a waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex like inner membrane that allows sweat to escape while remaining waterproof, keeping your feet dry and helping prevent blisters and injuries.
They have good ankle support and a speed lace system so they can be put on and taken off in a hurry.
They have a padded inner and tongue for excellent comfort with the tongue being fully attached to stop water entering the boots.
Fantastic quality boots which are built to last and stand up to the toughest of tests, as you would expect from genuine Austrian military surplus!
Please note, on the sole or tongue of these boots will be a figure 8 which is the Austrian military's method of stating the width of the boots, this is not the boot size. The boot size will be in Euro sizing - eg. 39 or 41
Austrian army mountain boots for sale from Forces Uniform and Kit, the genuine military surplus clothing company.
Excellent boots in great condition, hardly worn.
The boots are 11 years old so if you think your getting the latest boots out your not. But I’ve got no complaints. Loads of tread good condition and your only paying £50 for miendle boots. In my opinion they are good value for the money and I’d buy a pair again off this company.
Great boots, very comfy and water tight.
These are great boots. Stiff sole, thick leather uppers and very comfortable. A little bit on the heavy side but that comes with a strong and durable boot. Good buy and would easily have a second pair. Worth the money!
Absolutely fantastic service from you had a problem with my purchase and you sorted it straight away. Brilliant company will definately use them again
Great boots and condition.
Service brilliant and very helpful.
I had no doubt about quality since the Meindl brand Is a guarantee.
Plus, I am very Happy for the condition, almost new.
Thank you very much!!!
Can't say they were In excellent condition. 10 year old boots well used. Probably better paying for the new ones at £65.
Bought a pair for me and my son ( for Air Cadets). My son's are in great condition, very little wear. Mine were a little big so we're returned and replaced with no quibbling. New pair fit much better although are more worn than my son's, but still good value. Would have had 5 stars if my boots had as little wear as my son's.
Boots arrived very quickly, and the condition far exceeded my expectations. Excellent quality, light wear. I've recently had a very negative experience with another online surplus retailer, so I was really pleased with the speed, standard of the boots and the price too - for £40 these were an absolute bargain. Recommended.
I have had a pair of these boots before but from a different company, I love the boots, great support, comfortable, great weatherproofing. the only downside I had before was the sole which was quite heavily worn.
My 'new' boots arrived with plenty of tread and in great condition - I genuinely shouted out loud with delight.
Fabulous boots at the price.
i also bought the Austrian rain jacket (not the distressed one though) like John McGleish below! Love that too.
The boots arrived in excellent condition with lots of tread remaining on the soles.
My feet are a UK size 9.5 to 10 and the size 44 boots are an excellent fit for me. The boots are generous in width, so I placed a thin innersole under the removable Meindl innersole to reduce the volume slightly and now they are a comfortable and snug fit.
The boots are top end quality, really well made and heavy duty. They are a propper 4 season plus mountain grade boot. I found the boots to be immediately comfortable with no breaking in required. The sole is very rigid with little flex compared to a 2/3 season boot and this is very noticeable for the first few steps. However. I got used to the stiffness of the sole in no time and do not notice it now, even when walking on flat ground. These boots will be perfect for my frequent trips to the lake district and Scotland.
I have a lot of Austrian Army surplus gear because I regard their standard issue kit as being the best out there.
Fantastic boots, comfy and sturdy . Unfortunately as with some second hand gear the pair I received has snapped lace hooks which I'll have to get fixed. but for the price the boots themselves are a bargain.
Also bought Austrian waterproof jacket (distressed) which is a great jacket , far above my expectations, waterproof and warm .
Excellent boots, they arrived with not much wear. However, despite that, it did not take long to break them in. Big fan of these boots, they served me well hiking in Snowdonia
My son likes these boots, hope they wear well.
Excellent product and price.
What you have here is a beautiful set of Meindl boots in black. Retail i suspect new they woudl be a £250 pair of boots. Mine came clan with only a little bit of wear on the sole. Like other reviewers i had to get better stronger laces and needed to open up the lace holes with a small tool. They have had a good clean and are now ready for action - very impressed
Awesome boots impressed with condition virtually new. Definitely be coming back to this site for more goodies ☺
very happy with boots. I ordered a size larger than usual and they fit perfect.
Very pleased with the quality and fit of the boots. I use them for general walking on the very muddy, at present, local pathways and for working in the estate grounds. Some wear to the soles but only to be expected when buying ex-military equipment.
I have bought a few different boots from Forces uniform and kit and these boots are very good. They have a slightly stiffer sole as they are mountain boots and not regular combat boots.
Sometimes you find that they supply boots almost like new and sometimes they have seen some wear.
Mine arrived needing a good polish some new laces and I had to open the lace eyelets using a screw driver and a bit of force. So although they arrived and needed a bit of care they have since become one of my favorite boots.
Brilliant value for money
Bought these as work boots, I work in Countryside so boots get put through their paces. Described as grade 1 but are more like supergrade! Delivered quickly and correct to size. Strong boots that are comfortable out of the box. I am sure these boots will last for years. Going to buy another pair! Highly recommended boots and highly recommended company.
Really tough boot in good condition. Good amount or tread left. Did have a issue that was resolved quickly. Boot arrived clean. Took off old polish with saddle soap then liberally applied scarpa HS12 waterproofing to help waterproof and moisturise leather. Put in sorbothane cushion step insoles. These boots are super tough but are heavy. Awsome boot for 40 quid will last me years.
I bought a pair of these from f u kit a month ago, how can I not have a spare pair
"They are in Grade 1 condition with signs of wear and good tread depth"
Nope. Practrically worn smooth on one side.
Apart from that fine.
I would just like to say these boots are awsome , These boots came through the post within 2 ,day's of ordering size 46 perfect fit vibram soles were new uppers were hardly marked .Don't waste your money on any other rubbish .
First of all I would like to commend the customer service I received whilst dealing with my issue, absolutely fantastic, a credit to this store. 2nd I would like to say how happy I am with my boots, fit like an old pair of slippers couldn't be happier. They are in fantastic condition but with the added bonus of being broken in. Can't recommend them or this company enough. Many thanks to all.
Well made and in a reasonable condition. Some small scuffs/cuts and signs of use but generally good. Taller than other mountain boots I’ve had. The sole tread is like new. Good value for the money. Fast postal service. Recommended.
The insoles are branded Meindl and there is also a label on the inside of the tongue bearing the name Meindl, so I think it is safe to conclude who manufactured these boots.
On receipt I gave these a quick once over and was pleased to discover the soles were Vibram. I then gave the boots a thorough clean with a boot and shoe cleaning gel. After this I applied some Nikwax leather conditioner to the wet (damp) boots. After a few minutes I removed the excess leather conditioner and buffed the boots which now looked almost like a brand new pair.
The insoles had definitely “seen better days” but these were easily and cheaply replaced (Grisport has a good selection at reasonable prices on their website). Finally I applied a couple of coats of Grangers waterproofing paste. (I find this easier to apply and more durable than Grangers G Wax).
The original laces were “as new” (possibly replaced by the Army ?).
To all intents and purposes I now have an almost new pair of boots and have saved something like £200, compared with buying a genuine new pair. Additionally being an “old school” type of boots they will probably outlast their more modern and light weight counterpart..
Since they have been worn previously and I applied leather conditioner I assumed they would not require much in the way of breaking in. Looking at the quality and thickness of the leather I also suspected that they would be highly waterproof even without a vapour permeable membrane (VPM).
My initial assumptions have been vindicated over the last couple of weeks. These boots are very comfortable (if heavier than more modern ones). The grip is superb, as good as I have ever experienced in mud and on frost. My feet did not feel cold even standing on ice (just to test how effectively they performed). Puddles and shallow streams can be tackled with confidence.
Highly recommended for even the worst winter weather.
Boots arrived very quickly after ordering. Grade one, uppers in good order for used boots plus they still have a good amount of tread left so no need to worry about having to get them resoled anytime soon. These are well made quality boots and the weight reflects this. I found them heavy at first but soon got used to them. A great boot for the winter and well worth the money.
Ok to start with quality of these boots are top notch the leather the padding the soles, they are a little weighty but you soon get used to them, they are really comfortable and able to walk miles in them 1st time out as they don't need any breaking in, they are grade 1 condition which means they have a few scuffs which make no difference once polished over which was how mine arrived with new laces and there is ample tread left on the soles. In short I am more than happy with these boots which I can see I will get plenty of years walking out of them. If your after a pair of really warm and waterproof boots just get these and if you can get a better pair of boots than this for £40 then drop me a line are order a dozen
Up till now always spent £150 upwards for decent pair of boots, not any more.
£40 for boots of this quality, totally waterproof, great ankle support and already broken in! Cant go wrong.
Boots and FUK highly recommended.
All set for a wet cold winter. These are great boots, fully waterproof, proved by paddling through ankle deep water in the fields from recent rain trying to catch my horse! They are also comfortable and well made and were a very good price with prompt delivery.
Delighted with this purchase, well designed Boots hard wearing and the level of ankle support is extremely impressive. A1 grade condition as advertised, there were a few small scuffs on the walls of the Vibram soles but as they are surplus this was not un expected. Happy to reccomend these boots and this seller. Great service from order to delivery.
