We have been forced to introduce a minimum order value due to ever-rising costs. Rather than charge a disproportionate packing and shipping fee on low cost items, or raise the price of our smaller and less expensive items, we have introduced a £15 minimum order value to ensure we remain competitive in an increasingly challenging environment.
How is the shipping charged calculated?
Your order's delivery charge will be based on the package contents, packaging, its weight, as well as where in the UK your delivery address is. The easiest way to find out is to add items to the Shopping Trolley (Basket/Cart), complete your address (and an email address) and the prices will be calculated based on the weight of the items and your post code. You do not need to pay anything in order to to see this information, but if you decide to proceed, the payment process can be started.
Our standard two UK options are "Next Day after dispatch" and "48 Hour after dispatch" via Royal Mail and are 24 or 48 hour services from the moment the order is collected from us. So, if your order is placed after 9am on a weekday, it will be collected the next working day, and should be delivered as per the time listed.
Sometimes packages destined for the Scottish Highlands, Islands and similar remote locations will be delivered a little later of course. We are also not able to guarantee that the Royal Mail delivery will indeed be delivered when they promise as circumstances do sometimes cause delays.
Heavy consignments to mainland England and Wales, may be sent via alternate couriers, and may incur a surcharge; if a palletised delivery is required for instance.
If an attempt at delivery, or a re-attempted delivery, fails or meets with no response at the address you have provided, or you do not react to requests from your country's customs / duties' agencies, sent to the email or mobile telephone contact details that you provided, the package may be returned to us. This incurs charges which may be charged to you.
In this event, should you still want your order, we will charge a re-delivery fee - as we will have already paid our couriers for the initial attempt, and, because we also pay a second fee for the package to be sent back to us, we will also charge you for this.***
So it is essential that you check for emails from couriers advising that a package is awaiting your contact; payment of fees; collection; and for ensuring that the delivery address is attended.
Proviso: If it transpires that the couriers failed to keep to their procedures, and that you have not been properly advised by them, or that a delivery agent failed to contact you, then we may in those circumstances waive the returns fees dependent upon our investigations and confirmation of those failures.
*** Whatever happens, please contact us to allow us to investigate, so that a correct decision can be made, and before any charges, returns or refunds, can be arranged.
Your parcel may possibly be left at a local collection location instead of being delivered to the delivery address. It is your responsibility to monitor emails in all spam or filtered folders to ensure you do not miss this advice, and to ensure you are aware of where your parcel is located.
Again, the easiest way to find out is add items to the Basket, add your address and, if your country is included on the permitted list, it will state the price including the shipping charge. If the message advises you that we don't send consignments to your country, we are sorry, but we cannot help you.
Deliveries to these countries are likely to be made to a local 'parcel shop' or post bureau and so we would recommend customers keep an eye out for advisory emails that may arrive in their email Junk Mail or Spam folders. If your parcel does not appear in the advised time please contact us and we will investigate.
Please note that since the COVID pandemic, shipping costs for sending around the world from the UK are regularly raised without warning. Therefore, if we find shipping for your order is far in excess of the price you've paid, we may contact you to request an additional payment, or of course allow you to cancel the order with a full refund.
Customers not in the UK should note that sale prices shown on the web site do not include any Customs Duty charges that are applied in their own country. Therefore, these fees are the responsibility of that receiving customer upon delivery and not Forces Uniform and Kit. Apart from the countries of the European Union, Canada is one example of countries which impose import duties. Once again, it is your responsibility to monitor emails, sent to the email address you provided us with, to respond to these messages.
When you order, we will require a true email address, as well as a contact telephone number for the local delivery agents to contact you in case nobody is found at the delivery location to accept the package. That is the only reason we ask for this, we will not phone to sell you something, or ask what you think of the item, or give your information to anyone else.
We have problems with guaranteeing deliveries to such locations and so please provide a street address rather than ones linked to private or organisation systems.
